I have been interested in parkour for a while now, but never properly done it, occasionally doing the odd vault, but nothing much more due to feeling self concious.

But after speaking to Matt/Shinrai Shinzou we arranged a mini jam as a nice introduction. After arranging it and a bit of confusion, resulting in me asking a random guy if he was matt, i found him. After introductions and some chat matt asked me to show him what i knew, being a bit nervous i managed to mess up a lazy vault but soon recovered, showing myself with better, successful moves. To which matt gave me some great pointers which may have been small but helped alot.

I even managed to learn a few new moves such as long kong, 360 lazy, and something where you go between two bars (memory fails me on it's name) and even develop others such as wall runs, and fail at others such as wall spin xD. But it was good fun, and although they still need quiet alot of improving, by feeling more confident in general i can be free to practise more often.

so, yea it turned out to be a great day, with some positive feedback from matt aswell as random people commenting on our movement. Leaving me with a great feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction, and i hope to see you all at the next jam session =]

Parkour Shoes Review

Thought i do a review on my shoes, i bought them in a bit of a hurry a couple of months ago because my old ones had completely gone, and havent really done to much parkour in them, i bought them because they are mountain shows and hisseemed like a good idea, also i had a pair of hi tec before that were pretty good for parkour and karrimor make an almost identical pair, so i wanted to see a comparison

Shoes- Karrimor Border II

Cost- £20 very reasonable, which is good cause i tend to get through shoes

Comfort (5 stars)- Actually very comfortable, they seem to be quite wide, which is good for me cause i previouslyfound other shoes like nikes, to be quite narrow on my feet, and the back of the shoe sits just under the pivot of my ankle so they allow good movement

Durability (1 star)- This is where it all goes wrong, i have only had them for a couple of months, and they have already developed 3 or 4 holes, the soles intact but thats cause i havent used them much, also first time i tied them up one of the eyelets fell of

Shock absordtion (4 stars)- Very good, there really flexible and the heel is nice and spongy

Grip (3 stars)- I bought them cause they aremountain shoes and i thought they would grip well, cause there intended for lose and slippery ground, but there no good on a wall, i can get up but they tend to slip alot, probably something to do with the strange looking sole

Looks (4 stars)- I do think they look good, or atleast they did before the holes started appearing, and there black which is good cause i dont really like white or coloured trainers

Overall (3 stars)- Not particularly very good, there alright for running in and dropping in, but without good wall scaling ability, there kind of a let down, though for a nice cheap, comfortable shoe, that you could do a bit of general parkour in now and again, they are quite good

(my star system is based on 1 being terrible, 3 being a minimum requirement for some sort of parkour but not really good enough, and 5 being as much as i would ever hope for, if 6 appears then my expectations have been well and truely exceeded)

Ok so, Lonemorf you want a blog, here it is! :D

26/4/08:

I was up London, Stains (Ali G aayyee!) visiting my good pal Charlie for 2 weeks. And was teaching him the ways of Parkour!

I was out on the 26th and done a HIGH monkey vault. I then retried in the very same place but... And I regret to say, I clipped my feet!

On the way down I got the worse feeling of falling ever! I was heading to the floor face first! I just managed to put my arm out and break fall - Just!!

I thought everything was fine and dandy untill I looked at my hand! My God! It looked mutated! My fingers were twisted into a vile shape! they pointed opposite directions!

anyway I thought they just dislocated. Then my ex girlfriend come along and grabbed my hand and bent it in a unatural direction! I knew then it was broken, not because of the pain. But because I could see my bone pointing through the skin! Things to make you go MMMMMMMMM!

---

Hospital trip:

When we finaly got to Charlies house me and Charlies mum headed to Ashford hospital Middlesex (Not kent).

When we got in there I was holding my hand (which now looked lik a fully inflated ballon) and ghasping in pain every 5 seconds! The cheeky F**king nurse started asking me all sorts of mental questions! I'll give you a few fine examples:

What college do you go to?
Do you have any religions?
What's you marital status?
How did you do it?
Where did you do it?
When did you do it?
Did this happen today?
Have you ever broke a bone before?
Do you have any dentures or faulse teeth?
Do you have any piercings?
Do you have any bowl problems?
Do you have any problems passing urine?
Are you allergic to shell fish?

After about 10 minutes of pure questions I cracken and said "Listen I've broken my hand, not entered "This is your life!!"" So She shut up and told me to wait in the A&E waiting room so I did.. For 3 f**king hours!

At one point I iched my nose and a old hag asked my if I wanted a tissue so I said no... 2 Minuted later she asked again: "Are you sure you dont want one?" I just wanted to throw a show at her head!

When I went in to see the doctor he come walking around the corner in his scrubs, and looked JUST like the dude out of "Htman" I was ssccaarreedd! But he was nice.

He took an X-Ray and said I will be completely safe, then he had the cheek to stand behind a bulletproof, radiation proof, noiseproof, everythingproof piece of glassing. Hmmmm yea I felt very secure!

When he looked at the X-Ray he said my 2nd and 3rd metacarples are broken. So I have infact not broke one bone, but two! Arn't I the lucky boy?

Anyway it got casted up and I went home to Charlies. FINALY!

It was at this point I phoned Cj and told him about my incident.

End of Episode 1.

Episode 2 coming soon!

7/5/08:

(Here's a sneek peek):

"It will be busy, we can gather a crowd like we did Saterday."

"I'm up for it!"

BOOM! Glen! Hospital again! A broken promise! Another X-Ray!

Scariest most aganising episode yet: Warning - Extreamely scary, not for the faint hearted!
