ive found that i can come near to 'perfect' a move and all of a sudden become self-conscious of the move and have difficulty committing or pulling it off - ie palm springs i used to do so well. the wall spin is the current 1 really bugging me but im going to practice on a wall with a mattress and hopefully ill get it back - but i was doing them fine in the gym.
enyway does enyone else ever have this problem? even tho u know you can do a move fine u have trouble going for it and giving it ur 100% ???
i call the condition "thinking too much" because ur thinking about the move and putting urself off.

u are all correct, over thinking as shinrai mentioned is indeed the cause. often when u do a move you then analyse just how u do it and that leads you to imagining things about it that are not true or puts your focus not on the feeling of the move but on the mechanics of it which is often pretty bad. U need to be able to come at such 'dead ends' from afresh. The best way to do this is to do it from the opposite direction or with ur other hand/leg. If this doesnt work u can also try making the move more instinctive - so doing a quick move before it which leads you into the other move with no space for thinking, or finally (my personal favorite) u can resort to the 'parkour scream' This basically means that as you are doing the jump and just as u are about to take of you drown out the thoughts in ur mind with a wild and mighty scream or cry. Lol, fierce!!!:rambo:

i call it thinking, it's when you actually think of something, and you loose the feeling, like you think of one thing then completely forget another thing which is more important etc. jeez i think it gets us all. in otherwords what nox just said -_-
